“If wellness is a journey,” he says, “the good news is that the path to wellness is always at our feet. It’s as easy as the next thought or decision, the willingness to make good choices and to invest in our own health, happiness, success, and well-being. Appearance and the way we perceive ourselves can have a profound effect on how we feel and interact with others. Medical aesthetics can help us re-discover our natural beauty and vitality, but it can also serve as a springboard to promote self-confidence and a healthy lifestyle. Nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, relaxation, and social engagement all play a role. At Pacific Coast Aesthetics, we employ a holistic approach to support our patients as they focus on aligning mind, body, and spirit in a positive and nurturing environment.”
“There’s more to this art than meets the eye. Tell us your goals and let us help you achieve them. We look forward to hearing about the many ways it changes your life for the better.”
April completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and holds a Master of Science degree from the Physician Assistant program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. As a nationally-accredited Physician Assistant, April’s medical background includes eighteen years of experience in women’s health, including surgery, deliveries, and patient counseling regarding hormonal therapies and other options to address symptoms of all stages of life including menopause. April’s wide range of clinical experience includes eight years of practice in an urban emergency department and four years of practice working in a busy dermatology and medical aesthetics office.
April is knowledgeable and proficient in a broad array of aesthetic treatment options, including neuromodulator (botulinum toxin) and dermal filler injectables, non-ablative laser and light-based therapies (IPL, BBL, laser hair removal, laser vein treatment, fractional laser resurfacing), medical dermatology (photodynamic therapy, microdermabrasion), skin tightening (radiofrequency, ultrasound, BBL), body contouring (Emsculpt), and women’s health (Emsella, DiVa). She has extensive training and experience in the use of Halo, the world’s first and only Hybrid Fractional Laser that minimizes discomfort and post-procedure downtime while maximizing dermatologic results.
April embraces health and wellness in her own life as well. She has participated in the art of yoga for more than fifteen years and has been a yoga instructor for the past ten years. She assists with instructor-training seminars and incorporates meditation and integrated mindfulness into her life and medical practice. For recreation and fitness, she plays ice hockey in a coed league at Sharks ice, as well as for a traveling team and the Northern California Women’s Hockey League. “Hockey and yoga are the yin and yang that keep me balanced and present in life,” she says. “I love the ocean and water sports as well. We’re so close to it here at Seascape Village. I can walk to the beach in a matter of minutes.”
“I’m so excited to be at this stage of my clinical practice,” she continues. “My goal is for patients to look and feel healthy and vibrant, both inside and out. We combine individualized medical-grade skin treatments, clean products, nutrition, and holistic services. A consistent prescribed skin program will rejuvenate skin to glow and literally turn back the clock at the cellular level. My experience in women’s health, aesthetics, and medical dermatology—from routine care to emergencies—allows me to craft specialized plans for the needs of each patient. Not only will you look and feel younger but you will decrease your risk of skin cancer. This is what we do at Pacific Coast Aesthetics, where we integrate wellness with the highest quality and most cutting-edge treatments in skin care.”
Kristen is a California licensed esthetician with eight years of experience in clinical aesthetics. She has worked in a medical setting for the past seven years, performing medical-grade treatments such as the Envy Medical Dermalinfusion platform, medical-grade chemical peels, and personalizing home care regimens with the professional skin care line, SkinCeuticals. She is knowledgeable and experienced in creating a skincare program that is effective in treating teen/adult acne, rosacea, and melasma. Kristen has completed multiple advanced training courses with Envy Medical, PCA Skin, SkinMedica, Obagi, and SkinCeuticals. She has extensive experience as a patient coordinator working alongside physicians and other clinicians in the development and coordination of comprehensive treatment plans.
One of Kristen’s many passions is her commitment to patient wellness. She embraces a holistic approach, providing education, support, and a personal connection with her patients. “There is nothing more rewarding than knowing I helped make at least one small change in someone’s life,” she says. “In the study of healthy skin and how to maintain it, I have learned so much about the various supportive treatments and ingredients to protect, regenerate, and support skin tissue using topical products, laser treatments, and injection therapy. As I spend more years in the field and apply it to my personal life, I understand and appreciate the influence of a balanced mind, body, and lifestyle and the large impact it can have on your health, both inside and out.”
Kristen was born and raised in Santa Cruz County. She is the mother of two boys and worked as a professional model before deciding to transition into the world of medical aesthetics. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and going to her favorite dance class. “Dance is my therapy and release,” she says. “It’s a spiritual experience for me. I would go every day if I could.”
“I have also started meditating,” she continues, “and I encourage people to try. I am a beginner, but it really helps. Life can be hard. Sometimes we need to sit with ourselves and just breathe.”
“I feel so fortunate to be a part of Pacific Coast Aesthetics. It's an amazing opportunity to truly make a difference.”
Victoria received her nursing degree from De Anza College and is completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Fresno State University. She worked in an Intensive Care Unit before transitioning to a dermatology office where she became well-versed in numerous laser and skin treatments such as laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, and rejuvenation techniques. In addition to her critical care and dermatology background, Victoria has eight years of experience in emergency medicine. She holds certifications in Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing, and Crisis Prevention.
Victoria is an avid exercise enthusiast who loves being outdoors and enjoys running, hiking, dancing, and swimming. She has participated in several half- marathons and triathlons, and is a huge hockey fan. (“GO, SHARKS!!”) She says that being a mother and grandmother are her greatest joys. Her favorite recreational activities include going to concerts and motorcycle races, as well as travel in general. “My favorite location is Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii,” she says. “I especially like to be there when participants are arriving to train and take part in the Iron Man. It’s so impressive and inspiring to be around such stellar athletes!”
“I love being a nurse and working with people from different backgrounds and cultures,” she continues, “and I have developed a special technique when working with patients with darker skin (Fitzpatrick skin types IV through VI). I am passionate about helping our clients discover their inner health and well-being, as well as teaching them how to care for their skin through the use of high-quality products designed for their skin type. My goal is to help people recognize that the mind and body work together as an integrated unit, and that balance and harmony can be achieved through mindfulness. When working with our patients, I feel it is vital to listen to their goals, ideas, and concerns and to help educate them about their treatment options. It’s important for the patient to feel a sense of control during this process, allowing them to make the final decision on what their care plan will be.”
“I enjoy helping people find their beauty both inside and out through health, fitness, and skin care. When a person has a healthy mind-body connection, it results in a beauty that shines from within and touches everyone they meet. It becomes a guiding force in their life.”
